63 Pounds of Trash Collected Post-Cherry Fest

A post-Cherry Fest beach cleanup event gathered 63 pounds of trash from Traverse City's waterfront. More than 130 volunteers joined The Watershed Center GT Bay, the Alliance for the Great Lakes and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly on Sunday morning following the 88th National Cherry Festival.

Among the 63 pounds of trash were:
585 food wrappers
100+ pieces of firework debris
673 small plastic pieces
5,900+ cigarette butts
