Break-In at Toys R Us

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office is investigating a breaking-and-entering that occurred over the weekend at Toys 'R Us in Traverse City. At 4:15am on Sunday, deputies responded to an alarm at the store and found a broken window at the front of the business. Numerous electronic items totaling $2,700 were determined to be missing, and damage to the window and other store displays totaled an estimated $5,000. A suspect caught on video was described as a white male, approximately 5'6"-5'10" with a slender to medium build. He was wearing a dark stocking cap, dark pants, dark jacket with a t-shirt hanging out underneath and dark gloves. Anyone who may have information on the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 231-995-5000.
