A 43 year-old Lake Leelanau man has been arrested on two counts of felonious assault and two outstanding contempt of court warrants after after a domestic disturbance Thursday  in Leland Township.,

Leelanau County Sheriff deputies responded to a residence on Lingaur Road on a report of a man threatening others with a knife. Multiple 911 calls were received from the residence. Upon arrival, the suspect was detained in the driveway. Inside the residence a 39 year-old female victim was suffering from a cut on her hand. Witnesses said the suspect was intoxicated and became involved in an argument with his girlfriend. A witness observed the suspect to be holding a knife and yelling threats at his girlfriend. When the witness confronted the suspect, the suspect allegedly lunged at the witness with the knife yelling threats.

The suspect was transported and lodged in the Leelanau County Jail. The female victim, a 39 year-old from Benzonia, declined medical attention.
