Hit A Home Run For Habitat

July 31, 2015

Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region is asking community members to "Step Up To The Plate" and hit a Home Run for Habitat. The campaign will raise money toward the $800,000 still needed to finish the Depot Neighborhood near the corner of Eighth and Woodmere. Consumers Energy has also agreed to match up to $150,000 in donations raised by Michigan Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

The Depot Neighborhood, a net zero affordable housing community, features homes powered in part by solar energy that result in minimal energy bills. The five families who moved in last winter after completition of the first phase of the development have already reported receiving energy credits from Traverse City Light & Power.
