Meet the 2015 National Cherry Queen Candidates

May 23, 2015

Fifteen young women are vying for four spots in the hopes of being named the 2015-2016 National Cherry Queen. The next step in the process is Selection Weekend, held next weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. The candidates will participate in interviews, give a speech and answer a question on stage during the finalist selection process. Each of the four finalists is awarded a scholarship of $1,250 payable to the academic institution of her choice and becomes part of the court for reigning 2014-15 National Cherry Queen Chelsea Lajko.

Beyond the queen's duties representing the festival and the cherry industry at events throughout the year, she also receives $8,000 in scholarships and a wardrobe valued at more than $10,000.

Tickets to the candidate selection event are $10 each and may be purchased here.
