Street Sale, Friday Night Live Return Friday

The Downtown Traverse City Association will host its annual Downtown Street Sale this Friday, August 1 from 8am-9pm and kick-off its August series of Friday Night Live events from 5:30-9pm Friday evening on the 100 and 200 blocks of East Front Street.

Friday Night Live - a free community block party - will feature music, entertainment, food, demonstrations and family events including juggling, face painting, caricature artists and balloon twisting. Scheduled food vendors include Blue Heron 2, Aw Schucks, U&I Lounge, House of Doggs, Kilwin's, Om Cafe, Moomer's Ice Cream, Popkies, Opa Uptown, TC Kettle Korn, Scalawags Whitefish and Chips, Man and Pan Paella and Why Knot Pretzels. This Friday's entertainment will feature the music of The Accidentals, Jazz North and Kaysen Chown, and the Traverse City Film Festival will host a free screening of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope in the Open Space following the event at dusk.

Upcoming Friday Night Live events include:

August 8: New this year! Silent Disco provided by Porterhouse Productions/Tent Venue at the corner of Cass and Front. Musical entertainment from the Overtones, The Old Mission Collective and Front Street Jazz.
August 15: Featuring the latest moves from hip-hop dance studio Soul Step. Dance to the grooves of Swing Shift and Mt. Elsewhere
August 22: Hagerty Night featuring more than 10 classic cars from the Hagerty Car Club. Entertainment will include the Plumville, Samantha Crawford and Aili Simpson.
