TC Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Teen

May 27, 2016

A 27-year-old Traverse City man was arrested Thursday on a felony criminal sexual conduct (CSC) charge for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

The arrest followed a nearly month-long investigation by the Traverse City Police Department. TCPD officers were dispatched to Munson Medical Center on May 2 on a report of a possible CSC case involving the teenage victim. Detectives opened an investigation, which culminated Thursday in the Grand Traverse County Prosecuting Attorney authorizing a charge of third-degree CSC against the suspect. The offense is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Authorites located the man shortly after the charge was authorized Thursday and arrested him. He was taken to Grand Traverse County Jail, where he is pending arraignment. The suspect's name has not yet been released.
