The 411 On Investment Crowdfunding

Sept. 19, 2014

Is your business looking for practical guidance on how to raise capital? Have you heard about Michigan's new "MILE" law that allows businesses to publicly solicit for investments from Michigan residents and opens the doors for community – local – investing?

A day-long conference – Roar Of The Crowd 2: Essentials of Investment Crowdfunding – on Fri., Sept. 26 at NMC's University Center in Traverse City promises to get you up to speed.

Local finance and legal experts presenting during the day include Kate Redman of Olson, Bzdok & Howard, Warren Call of Huntington National Bank, Laura Galbraith of the TC Area Chamber of Commerce, Zach Liggett of FIM Group and As Local As Possible and Chris Wendel of Northern Initiatives. Other speakers include Angela Barbash, founder of Reconsider, the state's leading local investment business advising firm, and Chris Miller, director of the DDA and Economic Development for the City of Adrian.

While the event is specifically targeting businesses, it is also relevant to business support professionals and community leaders. The conference runs from 9am to 4pm and costs $75 (includes lunch). To see the day's complete agenda or to register, click here.
