Traffic Fatality in Whitewater Township

Grand Traverse Sheriff's deputies say a 19-year-old Williamsburg man died Saturday night after his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle. Deputies responded to the two-vehicle accident 10:24pm on Williamsburg Road near Woodcrest Lane in Whitewater Township. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene; positive identification is pending.
The southbound vehicle was driven by a 52-year-old man from Cadillac. His passenger was a 53-year-old woman from Cadillac. They were both taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Deputies say they are looking into the possibility that speed and alcohol could have been factors.
