Beach Bums To Offer Flea Market, Concerts

May 6, 2015

The Traverse City Beach Bums will offer a series of live concerts and a Farm & Flea Market on Saturdays as part of the 2015 baseball season at Wuerfel Park.

In partnership with Porterhouse Productions, the Beach Bums will launch a new "Baseball, Bands & Brews" series during seven Saturday home games. Performers will take the stage for a 30-minute set when gates open at 6pm, then perform a free concert at the conclusion of that night's 7:05pm game. Concert admission is included in each game ticket, with performances open to all ages.

"Bringing other events is a long time coming and I'm just very excited for the concerts to add to the total experience at the park," says Beach Bums President John Wuerfel.

Performances will take place along the concession concourse on the first-base side of the stadium. Scheduled concerts included:

June 13: The Accidentals
June 27: Jocaine
July 18: Levi Britton Band
August 1: ReBooted Country
August 15: Laith Al-Saadi
August 22: Judy Harrison Swing Shift
September 5: TBA

Starting June 13 and running every Saturday through October 10, Wuerfel Park will also host a Farm & Flea Market from 10am-3pm. Registration and set-up will run from 7am-10am, with a vendor fee of $50 for a single space (two parking spots) or $100 for a double space (four parking spots). Registration is week-to-week. The market will be free to attend.

"We've been approached by hundreds of people over the years who have inquired about our parking lot space and it's time to put it to good use," says Wuerfel. "We see the market as a great addition to Traverse City and can bring people to the area from all directions every Saturday. We plan to make the market a true event."

The tenth season of Beach Bums baseball begins May 15 in Evansville, with the home opener scheduled for May 22.
