July 27, 2015

Eight candidates will vie for four open spots on the Traverse City Commission this fall. City staff Friday officially certified the candidates who will appear on the ballot. Three individuals are running for a two-year term as mayor of Traverse City: City Commissioners Jeanine Easterday and Jim Carruthers and resident Ian Joseph Winkelmann. Five other candidates will compete for three remaining open city commission seats, all of which involve four-year terms: Brandy Rae Courtade, Brian Haas, Richard Lewis, Tom Mair and Amy Shamroe.

The city election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 3.
