Community Foundation Awards $401k In Grants

The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation has awarded $401,000 in grants to organizations throughout the five-county area. These awards are from the Community Foundation’s designated endowments and include support for arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services, and youth.

Among the grantees are TART Trails, Child and Family Services, Inland Seas Education Association, the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, and Traverse Symphony Orchestra. A full list is available here.

Executive Director Phil Ellis says the organization anticipates awarding about $2 million over the course of this year. Over its 25 year history, the Community Foundation has awarded $50 million in grant awards.

The Community Foundation serves Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties and was established in 1992.
