Downtown Dumpsters Get Artistic Makeover

June 3, 2013

Be on the lookout for dumpster art the next time you're in downtown Traverse City. Students from Westwoods Elementary worked with the Downtown TC Association and American Waste to create dumpster masterpieces for eight permanent locations in the alley between Union and Cass streets. The students worked with local artists Glenn Wolff, Jean Larson, Chase Hunt and Nancy Nash to create public art that represents Traverse City and northern Michigan. Several downtown stores and building owners donated art supplies.
