Local Retailer In DC for "eFairness" Talks

June 10, 2014

Bill Golden of Golden Shoes in downtown Traverse City is participating in a national event today and tomorrow in Washington, D.C. to discuss the Marketplace Fairness Act and the importance of eFairness with members of Congress. As tax laws currently stand, online-only sellers such as Amazon are not required to collect sales tax at point of purchase, which brick-and-mortar retailers believe gives those sellers an unfair price advantage.
