Meijer Store Breaks Ground in Acme

Oct. 9, 2013

Developers broke ground yesterday in Acme Township on “Phase 1” of The Grand Traverse Town Center, which will include a new Meijer store. Site preparation begins today. The new retail center is located at the corner of Lautner Road and M-72. In attendance at the groundbreaking were developer Steve Smith, Acme Township Supervisor Jay Zollinger, and other members of the Township board. The project was the subject of a lawsuit by the former Township board several years ago, and was first proposed a decade ago. No word on when the Meijer store will be complete and open.
