Peter Garthe's Year-By-Year Pin Sales

National Cherry Festival pin sales king Peter Garthe is the festival's 23-time sales champion - and he has the records to prove it. Garthe provided The Ticker with a handwritten copy of his sales number for every year since he first began in 1991.

1991: 600 pins sold, total $600 ($1 pins)
1992: 2,600 pins sold, total $2,600 ($1 pins)
1993: 7,825 pins sold, total $7,825 ($1 pins)
1994: 8,120 pins sold, total $8,120 ($1 pins)
1995: 8,550 pins sold, total $8,550 ($1 pins)
1996: 10,162 pins sold, total $10,162 ($1 pins)

2016: Garthe broke the pre-sales record this year, having already sold 1,514 pins before the festival started. The previous pre-sales record was 1,378 in 2007. That brings Garthe's lifetime total sales to 204,852 pins. He is just shy of 10,000 gold pins sold - a milestone he hopes to hit this year.
