TC Man Killed In Garfield Township Crash

Nov. 23, 2016

A 61-year-old Traverse City man was killed in a pedestrian-motor vehicle crash Monday in Garfield Township.

David Knoll was walking in the dark on Barlow Street at approximately 6:30pm when he was struck by a vehicle. The car was driven by 49-year-old Viola Collin of Midland. Authorities believe Knolll was crossing the street at the time of the accident and was in an unlit area of the road with no pedestrian crossings or markings.

Collin was not injured in the crash. Though the collision remains under investigation, the driver has not been ticketed or cited as at fault in the accident.
