Trail Pioneer Nominations Sought

TART Trails is seeking nominations for the 12th annual Jim Mudgett Trail Pioneer Award. Mudgett, who passed away in 2004, was a founding member of the TART Trails Board of Directors, a trail chief on the Leelanau Trail, and a longtime supporter of the Vasa Pathway.

Nominations are open to anyone who has advocated for building, maintaining and using trails in the Grand Traverse region. Submissions may be sent in writing by August 28 to TART Trails, PO Box 252, Traverse City, MI 49685, or via email. Nominations should include specific reasons for why the person should receive this award, and any biographical information that may be relevant and helpful for the selection committee.

Past award recipients include Tom Auer, Lois Bahle, Tim Brick, Jim Dombrowski, Peter Doren, George Lombard, Dave Monstrey, Dick Naperala, Frank Noverr, Ted Okerstrom, Tom Phillips, Doug Scofield, June Thaden, and John Robert Williams.
