Want To Run An Inn Inside Sleeping Bear?
Oct. 4, 2016
The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the historic Sleeping Bear Inn and Garage in Glen
Haven. The RFP provides an opportunity for any interested individual or organization to submit proposals to the NPS to lease the property. Imagine the possiblities for an updated inn, a restaurant, or something else!
The Inn was built in approximately 1865 and was used as a lodging and dining facility until 1972; the garage was built in 1928. The facilities are part of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and are located in the historic village of Glen Haven along State Highway M-209, west of Glen Arbor. Additional information on the facilities, park, and process are available in the RFP.
Copies of the RFP are available here, or you may contact Chief Ranger Phil Akers at 231-326-4740 or here. Site visits of the facilities are also available upon request.
