Northern Michigan Startup Week Announces Preview Open House For April 11

Northern Michigan Startup Week 2023 is still a month away, but locals can get a sneak peek of this year’s event next week by attending a preview and open house at Cherry Capital Airport (TVC). The event, hosted by Northern Michigan Startup Week organizers, along with Traverse Connect, will take place at TVC from 8:30-10:30am on Tuesday, April 11. The event will give attendees a chance to “connect with northern Michigan businesses and entrepreneurs to learn about the events and programs that will make up the second annual Northern Michigan Startup Week.”

Where last year’s Northern Michigan Startup Week prominently featured a “Space Night” event, this year’s Startup Week will be focused around “water innovation” and around northern Michigan’s growing “blue economy.” Next week’s preview and open house will provide the first look at what that programming will entail.

In addition to a preview of events to come, those who attend the open house will get discounted pricing on this year’s Startup Week programs, and attendees who bring a business card will also be able to enter into a drawing to win a $500 Sun County Airlines voucher.

At 10:30am on Monday, after the open house, attendees also have the option to stick around for an information session hosted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification. That presentation will highlight “an exciting blue economy grant opportunity,” according to Traverse Connect.

Airport parking will be validated for attendees of the open house event.

Northern Michigan Startup Week 2023 is scheduled for May 5-11.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified April 11 as a Monday.
