Yen Yoga & Fitness To Reopen Inside Delamar Traverse City

One year after closing its popular studio on East Front Street in downtown Traverse City due to financial pressures from the pandemic, Yen Yoga and Fitness announced Wednesday it will reopen inside the Delamar Traverse City hotel later this year.

Yen Yoga will have 3,000 square feet dedicated to hot yoga, cycling, traditional yoga, fitness, and mobility classes at the hotel, which recently underwent a $50 million renovation at the intersection of East Front Street and Grandview Parkway. Amenities will include new locker and shower facilities, year-round parking, and a dedicated Yen Yoga entrance. Yen Yoga members will also have access to Delamar’s indoor/outdoor pools, lounge areas, bayside deck, coffee and smoothie bar, and fitness room, according to a company release. The studio will be open to the public on either a membership, punch card, or drop-in basis; hotel guests will enjoy a 20 percent discount on drop-in classes.

“We couldn’t ask for better partners in Delamar, whose client-centric mindset mirrors our own,” says  Yen Yoga Director Sara Harding. “The facilities are going to be gorgeous, and I know both our long-time clients and hotel guests will be thrilled with what they see and experience.”

After a lengthy search for a new location, Harding said the hotel’s central location and free parking were two key factors in partnering with Delamar, among other considerations. “Yoga and fitness dovetail with community, and Delamar Traverse City offers that with its spacious indoor/outdoor lounge areas and dining options,” she says. “I can’t think of a better place to come and invest in your wellness, then relaxing for a while or strolling downtown with friends or family.”

Construction on the space is already underway, according to Delamar General Manager Brandon Sheldon. He says a late 2021 opening is anticipated, with a select group of classes already being offered now at the hotel.
