Cedar Man Injured in Accident

June 24, 2016

A 51-year-old Cedar man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday in Leelanau County.

The Leelanau Country Sheriff's Office and Suttons Bay Fire and Rescue responded to the accident site on South Lake Leelanau Drive south of Otto Road at 6:30am. Responders found a 2006 silver Volvo crashed into a clump of trees off the roadway. The driver had been heading south on South Lake Leelanau Drive when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. He lost control of his car and left the road, striking a tree.

The man was treated at the scene by responders and then transported to Munson Medical Center for further medical attention.
