Lake Ann Woman Arrested After Crash

Oct. 22, 2016

A 45-year-old Lake Ann woman was arrested Thursday after crashing her car in Glen Arbor Township.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene of the single-vehicle accident on Dunn's Farm Road west of Trumbull Road at 10:18pm. The deputies found a 2008 Ford Escape off the roadway that had sustained heavy damage. The driver told deputies she'd been traveling south on Dunn's Farm Road when a deer ran in front of her car. The woman said she swerved to avoid the deer and lost control of her vehicle. The car left the road, went into a ditch and struck a tree.

During the investigation, deputies determined the woman was intoxicated. She was arrested and lodged at Leelanau County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
