Academic World Quest: Feb. 11

Northwestern Michigan College's International Affairs Forum kicks off its winter season this month with the third annual Academic World Quest competition. Eighteen teams from 11 regional high schools will compete in Academic World Quest, a quiz bowl-style competition on global issues on Thurs., Feb. 11 at the Hagerty Center. Topics include food security, the Arctic, privacy in the digital age, NATO and Asia.

Moderated by TV 7 & 4 anchor Marc Schollett, the free event is open to the public and begins at noon. The winner will be announced by 3:30 . The winning team will represent northern Michigan at the national competition held in Washington D.C. on April 23.
