Authorities Search For Armed Robbery Suspect

Authorities are searching for the perpetrator of an armed robbery at Huntington Bank in Empire Wednesday.

According to the Leelalanau County Sheriff's Office, a male suspect (pictured) entered the bank through the front door at 1:33pm and demanded money. He was wearing all-black clothing, had his face covered, and was armed with a silver handgun. He was also carrying an umbrella and a black backpack. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the bank through the back door and headed east. No bank employees were injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a while male, approximately 50 years old and roughly six feet tall. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office at 231-256-8800.
