Authorities Searching For Missing TC Man

By Beth Milligan | Nov. 29, 2017

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the public's help in locating a missing Traverse City man.

John Murray White, 45, was reported missing by family members Tuesday at 12:30pm. The family last communicated with White Saturday evening, and all attempts to reach him after that point were unsuccessful.

White's black Dodge Ram pickup truck (pictured) was found at the Baggs Road DNR boat launch on Skegemog Lake. Family members indicated White frequently used his kayak on the lake. GTSO/DNR Marine units searched the lake and recovered a kayak regularly used by White. The U.S. Coast Guard also assisted in the search Tuesday evening.

Authorities are seeking information that could help them locate White or shed light on his or his truck's movements over the past weekend. White (pictured) is described as a white male, 5’11” tall, 225 pounds with blue eyes and short dark-colored hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the GTSO Detective's Bureau at 231-995-5002.
