Bike to Suttons Bay, Bus Back

June 19, 2013

Cycling between Traverse City and Suttons Bay just got easier. On July 1, BATA launches Bike-n-Ride, a new summertime bike transportation program servicing the Traverse City-Suttons Bay Loop route. Riders can pedal the Leelanau Trail north to Suttons Bay and then return by bus with their bikes on board (or vice-versa). It is modeled after a program in Aspen, Co., and is one of few such programs in the country. Riders will be charged $3 per person, bikes ride for free. Bike-n-Ride is not an express service; the bus will make regular Loop stops. BATA partnered with TART Trails and the Michigan Land Use Institute to create the program.
