Chemical Bank Names Local Leadership

Chemical Bank has announced the formation of the Traverse City Community Bank Board of Directors as well as two new key leadership positions.

The board members include John Pelizzari, COO of Burnette Foods (board chair); Bruce Byl, president of Taste Bud Branding; Marty Lagina, founder and CEO of Heritage Sustainable Energy; Doug Luciani, CEO of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce; Chris MacInnes, CEO of Crystal Mountain; Bill Marsh, CEO of Bill Marsh Auto Group; Tim Nelson, president of Northwestern Michigan College; and Sue Peters, vice president, human resources at Munson Medical Center.

Also, Scot Zimmerman has been appointed senior lender and community president, representing Chemical Bank in the Traverse City market and surrounding areas. Most recently, Zimmerman served as chief lending officer for Northwestern Bank.

Dan Terpsma, former president and CEO for Northwestern Bank, has been named managing director – strategic growth and is responsible for the integration of Northwestern Bank into Chemical Bank and for developing an strategy for total portfolio growth.

Chemical Bank announced earlier this month that Donna McAvoy had been promoted to regional president – north of Chemical Bank. She has been with the bank since 1983.
