Cherry Capital Airport 'Greens It Up'

April 25, 2015

Cherry Capital Airport has implemented an airport-wide recycling program after being approached by Grand Traverse County RecycleSmart last fall to discuss the resources needed to launch a program. Commitment from both airport leadership and airport tenants allowed the partners to come together and create "a model for public space recycling" within the community, according to Cherry Capital Airport officials. RecycleSmart assisted with receptacles and labeling for waste and recycling and also led educational sessions with American Waste so staff was well informed.

RecycleSmart will perform assessments in the coming months to determine measurable waste diversion value and to ensure that labeling is effective for the public to properly dispose of items.
