City To Hold Arbor Day Tree Planting At Traverse Heights

Traverse City will celebrate Arbor Day with a special tree planting event at Traverse Heights Elementary School Friday (April 28) at 10am.

Three trees will be planted south of the school on Rose Street with help from Traverse Heights fifth-graders. The Arbor Day proclamation will be read at the event, along with remarks "talking about the importance of trees to all of us," according to a city release. The city called Arbor Day a "celebration of the importance of trees to the beauty of our parks, streets and yards along with the other environmental and aesthetic benefits of trees."
