DDA Executive Director Resigns

June 17, 2017

Traverse City Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Executive Director Rob Bacigalupi announced his resignation Friday.

"I feel it is a good time now for me to move on and pursue the next chapter in my career," Bacigalupi said in a statement. "I have offered to remain in my current position to continue to support the DDA as it transitions to a new leader. I will stay on for up to six months as the DDA conducts its search."

Bacigalupi, who has served for three-and-a-half years as executive director and previously served more than 14 years as deputy director under former DDA Executive Director Bryan Crough, did not give a reason for his resignation. Bacigalupi said his time with the DDA had given him "an invaluable opportunity to work with a group of exceptionally talented, dedicated and hard-working staff and volunteer board members" and that he would "continue to be a supporter and friend of Traverse City and its downtown."

DDA Board Chair Bill Golden said in a statement: "The DDA and all of downtown appreciate all that Rob has done for the city. His detailed knowledge of all the state and federal programs, as well as the relationship he has built, will be missed. Rob's generous offer to help transition to a new leader is greatly appreciated. We wish him success in the next phase of his career."
