Details Emerge In Prostitution Case

Jan. 13, 2016

The pimp went by "Dolla Getta" and his prostitutes called themselves "Star" and "Kee Kee"; they sold sex at an East Bay Township hotel through a website, according to charges filed this week.

Dolla Getta, aka Curt Tyrone Bradford, faces 20 years in prison on a charge of accepting earnings from prostitution and 20 years for prostitution conspiracy. His alleged conspirator, Kee Kee, or Katy Marie Kindle, faces the same charges.

A tip prompted the investigation, which was conducted by the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s East Bay Township officer and crime interdiction team, sheriff's officials say. A Traverse Narcotics Team detective responded to a Jan. 5 ad posted on Backpage.com, a Craigslist-style online classified page, to a woman who called herself Star, a “Smoking Seductress,” according to the charges. They agreed on a price of $200 and, when they met later that day, the woman, whose real name is Samantha Lee Frison, was arrested for misdemeanor prostitution.

The 22-year-old Clinton Township woman told investigators she was recruited by Bradford, a 26-year-old Detroit resident, and Kindle, a 22-year-old New Baltimore resident, to come to Traverse City to sell sex. She said she was forced to turn over part of her earnings – as much as half – to pay “for rent and stuff.” Kindle told investigators she had been coming to Traverse City for prostitution for a month or so and agreed to recruit Frison so that she could keep her own earnings and get paid some of what Frison earned.

Bradford, who as a four-time habitual offender could face life in prison, is held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
