Domestic Violence Arrest In Solon Township

March 6, 2015

Leelanau 911 received a call Wednesday afternoon from a 20-year-old Cedar man reporting that his girlfriend had pointed an unloaded gun at him and brandished a knife during an argument. The man had left the home by the time Leelanau Sheriff's deputies arrived.

The caller's girlfriend confirmed that there was an argument about how her boyfriend was disciplining their dog. When she attempted to call the police, he shoved her down, disabled the home phone, took her cell phone and left the home. The woman denied any use of a weapon.

Deputies were able to make contact with the caller and discovered he was wanted in Grand Traverse County on a bench warrant. He was subsequently arrested for Domestic Violence and Interfering with Communications.

The suspect is jailed until bond is set by the magistrate.
