Donations For Military Dogs Wanted

July 28, 2016

SunDog Kennel of Traverse City is seeking donations for its third Military Working Dog Team Support Association (MWDTSA) Q3 Care Pack event. The event is geared to provide care packs for canine troops. Volunteers help fill, pack and ship the 200 boxes that will be distributed. This year’s theme is "Talk Like A Pirate."

Pack date is mid-August to early September, so care packages will be in-hand overseas by Sept. 19, which is “Talk Like a Pirate Day.” The Amazon wishlist includes the Nero ball, a durable reward toy that is a favorite of many service dogs. Other pirate items, gear, and comforts from home will be sent to complete the care packs.

Donations are tax deductible. From 2006 to 2015, MWDTSA has sent a total of 3,536 care packages to deployed K9 teams.
