Fair, Pine Street Closures Planned

By Beth Milligan | July 11, 2019

The City of Traverse City and Elmer’s Crane and Dozer, Inc. will be resurfacing Fair Street between East Front Street and Beadle Street starting today (Thursday). The work is expected to be substantially complete by Friday, July 19, though the construction schedule is subject to weather. Workers will remove the existing pavement, grade and compact the existing gravel base, adjust drainage structure covers, and overlay with hot mix asphalt. Fair Street will be closed to through traffic during the work period.

The Traverse City Street Department is also working this week on Pine Street from Fourteenth Street to Griffin Street. Crews are working on catch basin rebuilds and adjustments in the corridors. The road closure started Tuesday in preparation for the pavement preservation project, which is planned to start Monday, July 15.
