Great Indoor Folk Fest This Sunday

The 8th Annual Great Indoor Folk Festival returns to The Village at Grand Traverse Commons this Sun., Feb. 21 from noon to 5:30pm. More than 100 musicians from northern Michigan's folk, bluegrass and acoustic music scene will perform at the festival. In addition to the 'stages' spread throughout the Mercato and Kirkbride Hall, there is also a satellite stage at Left Foot Charley, just west across the parking lot in the Village.
Newcomers this year include The Palooka Brothers, Turbo Pup, The Old Adage, Pistil Whips, Kyle Skarshaug, Nick Thurston, Brett Mitchell, The Older than Dirt Boys Band, which includes John Kumjian, Patrick Niemisto, Norm Wheeler, Kurt Westie and Adair Correll, Good Boy, Runaway Mule, Ruth & Max Bloomquist, The Half-Whits, Courtney Kaiser-Sandler, Mountain Gloom & Mountain Glory, and the Interlochen Student Singer Songwriters.
Returning oldies but goodies will include stars of the local acoustic music scene, including Jim Crockett & Friends, New 3rd Coast, Saldaje, Les Dalgliesh, Paul Koss, Chris Skellenger Dan Kelchak, Jim Hawley, Louan Lechler, Sandy Blumenfeld and many others.
