Greenspire School Announces New Leaders

By Beth Milligan | May 1, 2023

Two new leaders will take the helm at the Greenspire School effective July 1, the Traverse City public charter school announced this week.

Mike Schramm will serve as superintendent and Emily Feaster will become the head of school at the Greenspire Middle School. Current Superintendent Robert Walker will remain in his position through the end of June, "ensuring a smooth transition as he hands off the organizational knowledge he has worked diligently to create over the past three years," according to a Greenspire release.

The release states that the Greenspire board "has long planned to make the transition to a standalone superintendent with two lead administrators" overseeing each of the middle and high school buildings. Erica Walsh will remain head of school at the high school. Both campuses will also maintain dean/assistant head of school positions.

Schramm most recently served at the Greenspire High School as the dean of students and previously had "decades of experience as a teacher, head of school, and superintendent of international schools," according to the release. Feaster started as a Greenspire teacher in 2014 and "gradually took on more responsibilities over the years, which included oversight of technology and reporting," the release states. Feaster served as the assistant head of school at the Middle School over the past year.
