Head To Facebook For Your Ticker Comments

Dec. 25, 2019

The Ticker's comments section has transitioned to our Facebook page. Anyone interested in commenting on our daily news may find us there, where there’s always an ongoing dialogue along with our posts.

Our web site comments section had a good run, and for many years it did what we wanted: served as a place for productive, insightful community dialogue. We’ve kept it going as an extra effort to extend freedom of speech. But we are no longer comfortable serving as arbiter of what’s in good taste, as virtually every news story has been followed by several comments that are off-topic or mean-spirited. Like most of you, we’re sad that so many people hide behind fake names and computer screens instead of real life and civil discourse. We can’t be associated with that any longer. Sorry to those who used our Ticker comments section appropriately.
