Here's The Best Shopping News You'll Get All Day

Dec. 11, 2020

NOTE: The below deal has now sold out and is unavailable.

Here’s some very good holiday shopping news amidst the COVID chaos: Thanks to the new Consumers Energy “Our Towns” program, you can now double your money when shopping in downtown Traverse City — but you’d better act fast.

Consumers Energy has pledged $500,000 in matching dollars for those who buy gift cards directly from local participating organizations. Here in Traverse CIty, that’s the DDA. Traverse City is just one place where the deal is offered:  Consumers is doubling the amount consumers can spend in 55 downtowns across the lower peninsula.

"Small businesses are the backbone of the communities we serve, and every community has seen those businesses feel the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Lauren Youngdahl Snyder, Consumers Energy's vice president of customer experience. With Our Town, we want to end the year by spreading cheer. We are putting dollars directly into shoppers' hands to help them stretch their budgets and give a boost to shops and restaurants in their hometowns.”

The fantastic deal is only available while gift cards last, so act quickly.
