Intentional Hit and Run?

Sept. 18, 2012

The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred on September 11 around 7:12 p.m. in Green Lake Township. A bicyclist was riding northbound on Bush Road, south of Diamond Park Road, when she noticed a southbound vehicle cross the center line and come toward her. The bicyclist rode up onto a small embankment to avoid the vehicle, but it too came onto the embankment, striking the victim and her bicycle. The suspect vehicle then circled around, heading north past the location of the incident, then turned again and headed south. The victim hid in a nearby location, not knowing the intention of the driver. The suspect vehicle is described as a gray mini-van. No description of the suspect is available. The victim is a 32-year-old female from Interlochen. She has minor injuries.
