Kingsley Club Lands On Prestigious List

Kingsley Club has landed on Golfweek's Top 20 Best Modern Courses. The private golf retreat first opened in 2001and has earned a national following – more than 80 percent of the club's 200-plus members are from outside Michigan.

Golfweek's hundreds of course evaluators nationwide determined Kingsley Club's #18 ranking. They submitted ballots grading courses on factors such as routing of the course, feature shaping, greens, variety and memorable holes, conditioning, maintenance and landscape management.

Kingsley Club is owned by Traverse City businessmen Ed Walker and Art Preston. The course was designed by architect Mike DeVries – his first ever design after working at nearby Crystal Downs Country Club. DeVries also worked for nationally-rcognized golf course architects Tom Fazio and Tom Doak.
