Kingsley Man Killed In Sparling Road Crash

By Beth Milligan | Sept. 28, 2017

A 26-year-old Kingsley man was killed in a Fife Lake Township car accident Wednesday.

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene of the two-vehicle crash shortly after 11am. Their investigation determined the Kingsley man was driving west on Sparling Road when he failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound vehicle on Townline Road. The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 56-year-old Kingsley woman, collided with the man's car in the intersection.

The woman, who was not wearing her seat belt, was ejected from her vehicle. She only suffered minor injuries, however, and was taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment. The male driver died at the scene of the crash.

Deputies had not released the man's identity Wednesday pending next-of-kin notification. The crash remains under investigation.
