Local Author Launches Book Tonight

Local author Mardi Jo Link launches her latest book – her memoir Bootstrapper – tonight (Saturday), 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Brilliant Books in downtown Traverse City. Called a "heroic-comic saga of single motherhood, pure stubbornness, and the loyalty of three young sons" by Garrison Keillor, Bootstrapper is receiving early national acclaim. It is on the June 2013 IndieNext list along with Irish author Colum McCann (just in TC last week for the National Writers Series) and new novels by Jeannette Walls and Khaled Hosseini.
