Local Hall Of Fame Athletes: Where Are They Now?

By Beth Milligan | Sept. 8, 2020

Some became Olympians, some became doctors. Some were the stars of their college sports teams, others chose to focus on other things.

Northern Michigan’s former standout high school athletes have taken a multitude of paths over the years. In this week’s Northern Express, sister publication of The Ticker, writer Craig Manning finds seven of those athletes and tracks them down to find out what their lives look like today. From volleyball player Alisha Glass to point guard Trevor Huffman to runner Paul McMullen — and conversations with tennis player Bailey Rae, multi-sport athlete Kendall Robinson, all-state player Liz Shimek, and hockey star Will Weber — some of the region’s most talented stars reflect back on their journeys and share updates on where they are today.

The Northern Express is available to read online, or pick up a free copy at newsstand locations in 14 counties across northern Michigan.
