Local Law Firm To Split Off

June 14, 2017

The Traverse City office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge (SHRR), open since 1990, will become its own, locally-based firm, splitting off from SHRR's brand and offices. The transition is expected to happen late this summer.

SHRR is based in Grand Rapids and also has offices in Ann Arbor, Holland, and Muskegon.

The new firm will be known as Parker Adams Harvey & Judson, PLC. The firm is expected to remain at its 101 N. Park Street downtown Traverse City location and continue to offer its current services with the same legal team. Equity partners for the new firm will be Janis Adams, Andy Blodgett, Pete Boyles, Scott Harvey, Robert Parker and Jeff Wonacott; Boyles will serve as managing partner.

Commenting on the announcement, Boyles said, "This is a great opportunity to continue strengthening the services we already provide to our many northern Michigan clients and the strong relationships we have with our local communities. Being part of a larger, statewide firm for over 25 years has allowed us to hire and retain attorneys who specialize in business law, real estate, employment law, non-profit law, estate planning, estate administration municipal law, insurance law and civil litigation. We are not a group of general practitioners sharing office space but rather a team of attorneys who collaborate to most effectively and efficiently serve our clients. Our specialization and team approach distinguishes us from other local firms. We have a loyal, skilled and professional staff that has given us rock solid support through this transition. We value being a Traverse City firm and that continues with the same attorneys, staff and services. We look forward to continuing to grow with ever-stronger local roots.”
