Locals Land Feature in Kinfolk

Feb. 11, 2013

A local catering company is about to get some big-time exposure. Epicure Catering & Cherry Basket Farm of Omena will be featured in next month’s issue of the national magazine Kinfolk – which celebrates and shares ideas about entertaining.

The profile was written by local writer Shea Petaja, photographed by her brother Tec, and features wedding-style designs by her sister-in-law Chelsea Hughes Petaja. The project was coordinated by Megan Gilger of TC’s Fresh Exchange blog.

The article looks at how Epicure Catering comes up with a “philosophy of food” – bringing farm-fresh ingredients to clients’ homes, and cooking them on-site.

“This is very ‘Kinfolk’ in nature because the magazine’s focus is on farm to food and the slow process of preparing and enjoying a meal with good company,” Shea Petaja explains.

The magazine will be available at Anthropologie and Crate and Barrel stores, and locally at Brilliant Books, starting March 5th. A release party is also being planned, with food provided by Epicure Catering.
