Man Arrested After Drunkenly Crashing Into Ditch

June 30, 2016

A 74-year-old Indiana man was arrested Tuesday after drunkenly driving into a ditch.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the area of M204 and Horn Road in Suttons Bay Township at 10:56am on a report a vehicle was swerving all over the roadway. The caller followed the vehicle into the Wild Cherry RV Park. When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle - a 2001 Mercedes Benz - off the roadway and in a ditch, with the driver attempting to move the car back onto the road.

Deputies determined the man was intoxicated and arrested him. He was lodged at Leelanau County Jail.
