Munson And Spectrum Studying Air Ambulance Partnership

Sept. 8, 2014

Munson Healthcare and Spectrum Health officials have signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore a possible collaboration between North Flight EMS Air Division and Aero Med's operations in Big Rapids. Both parties now enter into a due diligence phase expected to be completed sometime next year.

Officials say the goal of such a collaboration would be to enhance air ambulance service and access, improve operations/cost efficiency, maintain safety, and provide better education and training for crews.

If the plan moves forward, the operation would be based in Traverse City and Aero Med would continue its West Michigan operations based at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids.
