Munson Medical Center (MMC) landed on half a dozen ‘Best Hospitals’ lists in a recently-released rundown of top U.S. hospitals from Women’s Choice Health. The Traverse City hospital earned kudos for its obstetrics, heart care, cancer care, comprehensive breast care, mammogram imaging, and women’s services.

Women’s Choice Health is part of the Women’s Choice Award, which seeks to “give women a collective voice so that they can help each other identify brands, products, and services that deserve her loyalty and referrals.” The organization endorses everything from places to work to financial advisors.

The Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals™ is described as “a coveted credential that identifies the nation’s best hospitals based on robust criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and appropriate accreditations.” The Women’s Choice Award website claims the honor is “the only designation that takes into consideration the preferences of women when selecting a hospital,” calling it a way for women to “feel confident in choosing the best care for themselves and their families.”

On the 2025 version of the Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals™ list, MMC appears in eight different categories, including:

·       Best Hospitals for Obstetrics

·       Best Hospitals for Heart Care

·       Best Hospitals for Cancer Care

·       Best Hospitals for Comprehensive Breast Care

·       Best Hospitals for Mammogram Imaging

·       Best Hospitals for Women’s Services

LaRaia is Munson Healthcare’s VP of oncology, women’s health, and professional services. “Receiving awards in these six different areas truly reflects our commitment to the quality and growth of specialty care at Munson Medical Center.”

Several other hospitals in the Munson Healthcare system also scored honors on the Women’s Choice Health list, including Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital (Best Hospitals for Obstetrics) and Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital (Best Hospitals for Emergency Care and Best Hospitals Minimally Invasive Surgery).
