National Cherry Festival Releases Air Show Information for '25, '26.

Dec. 11, 2024

The National Cherry Festival released information about the next two festival air shows, including a night show in 2026.

"On top of a world-class daytime event, the festival, in conjunction with the TC Boom Boom Club, will produce the region's largest nighttime extravaganza over West Grand Traverse Bay. The event will combine nighttime aerial performances with fireworks and pyrotechnics deployed from performing aircraft, all choreographed to music," the festival says in a statement.

Pilots Nate Hammond of GhostWriter Airshows and Kyle Fowler of GO EZ Aerobatics, two popular night aerial performers, will fly their displays in the dark, illuminated by fireworks, pyrotechnics, and LED lighting.

The nighttime fireworks performance is scheduled to start immediately after that night's concert.

Though not mentioned in the festival release, the Blue Angels are not expected to make an appearance in 2026 (they generally perform in Traverse City every other year, and performed here this year). A schedule released by the Blue Angels has them performing in New York over the Fourth of July weekend.

Meanwhile, the upcoming 2025 National Cherry Festival air show takes off as usual June 28-29. Both Saturday and Sunday will be headlined by the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command's F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team and the U.S. Marines F-35B Lightning II Demonstration Team.

More additions and announcements regarding the National Cherry Festival Air Show lineup will be announced in the future. The 2025 National Cherry Festival is scheduled for June 28 - July 5.
